Worship
As a Christian community of faith, everything we do flows out of our worship. Worship is a time for fellowship, praising God, experiencing God’s word through scripture, preaching and singing, and a time to be renewed by the Holy Spirit to carry the love of Christ into the community.
Whether you are a seeker struggling with questions of faith, a lifelong Christian looking for a new church home, or maybe a little bit of both, we invite you to join us for worship this Sunday.
Communion
We celebrate the sacrament of Holy Communion or The Lord’s Supper the 1st Sunday of every month during worship. We share bread and juice as a reminder of the last meal that Jesus shared with his disciples. We also use these common elements to represent the body and blood of Christ that were broken and shed for the forgiveness of sin. This is a meal that is always shared in community uniting us with the body of Christ as the body of Christ. We share the meal of Holy Communion, not only with each other, but with all Christians in every time and place, uniting us with Christians around the world and though out time.
Baptism
Occasionally in worship we celebrate the sacrament of Baptism for children who are presented by their parents to be baptized or for adults who wish to make a profession of faith. We welcome children and infants to be baptized, recognizing that God has chosen us in Christ even before we can understand how to accept God. We also welcome adults who are making their first profession of faith to be baptized as a sign of new life in Christ. We believe that one baptism is sufficient for life because it is not by water that we are transformed, rather it is by the saving actions of Jesus Christ that were completed once for all. The water, therefore, is a sign and seal of our acceptance into the Body of Christ.
