MISSION STATEMENT

The essence of the Gospel is found in Christ's works summarizing the law, "Love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind. . ." "and to love your neighbor as yourself." Recognizing the importance of loving your neighbor, the Recreation Outreach Ministry at Evergreen is committed to offering opportunities for the people of God to gather and share the joy of Christian fellowship.

The purpose of the Recreation Outreach Ministry at Evergreen Presbyterian Church is to promote the positive use of leisure time;

Recognizing that there is a need for all of us to rest and to play, to listen deeply, to laugh and to worship God with our light sides.

Recognizing that all people are our Brothers and Sisters in Christ, whose tastes and desires vary from person to person; whose abilities, both physical and mental, also vary from person to person; who, nevertheless, all need to pause and reflect.

The Recreation Outreach Ministry will strive to help the Community find the time and will help the participants plan creative ways to re-create.

The Recreation Outreach Ministry will provide opportunities, both on and off the playing field, both in and out of the concert hall - wherever appropriate recreational and fellowship vehicles are found - and will encourage the membership of Evergreen Presbyterian Church to enhance their personal relationship with God through re-creation, thereby working to fulfill Christ's command to love God and neighbor.
