Rev. Dr. Ken Letterman
Pastor
Ken was called to Evergreen in February of 2002, after having served two other churches in Memphis. He received his Bachelor’s degree from Stetson University, Master of Divinity from Columbia Theological Seminary, and Doctor of Ministry from Memphis Theological Seminary where his area of concentration included Church Conflict, Mediation, and the Theology of Reconciliation. He is an Adjunct Professor at Memphis Theological Seminary where he teaches a course in Congregational Conflict and Pastoral Care. In addition to his ministry at of Evergreen and the Presbytery of the Mid-South, Ken presents Healthy Congregations seminars to churches and helps churches experiencing damaging conflict move toward resolution and reconciliation.
Ken is an avid runner although he admits that the distances over the years are getting shorter and the times slower. One of the greatest joys in his (the whole family’s) life is the birth of their first grandchild in June of 2009, Kyle Stewart McPherson, to daughter Jennifer.
Ken is married to Melinda who is the administrator for a medical practice. They have three grown children, Jennifer, Matt, and Mike.
“If you are interested in a mid-town church committed to serving the community, a church in which half of its budget centers around outreach, and you are not content to just sit back but have a desire to roll up your sleeves and answer the call of Christ to come and serve, not to be served, then you will love our mission and ministry at Evergreen. We are a diverse community at different stages of our journey, loving and accepting each other and all God’s people.”
